Nature Storytime - The Lorax

Ages: 2-5 years old with a caregiver
$5 per child ($4 per child for members), adults and siblings under 2 years old are free

Nature Storytime has many opportunities for you and your little one to explore and appreciate the outdoors, such as live animal visits, hikes, stories, and hands-on activities. This week we will read the Lorax by Dr. Seuss and create some Lorax-inspired art.

Nature Storytime takes place Wednesday mornings and every other Sunday for one hour. Each session includes indoor and outdoor activities – so make sure to dress for the weather!

Day Off Outdoors: Grossology
Friday, February 15, 2019 - 8:30am to 5:30pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in grades K-5
$70 per child ($65 per child for LSNC Enhanced Members)

Investigate how turkey vultures defend themselves with vomit and experiment with molds and yeasts at this fantastic one-day camp. Study scat (the scientific word for poop) and dissect owl pellets to explore the food chain from another perspective. Every LSNC camp includes opportunities to play silly games, make art, spend time outside, and meet some of LSNC’s resident animals up close.

Day Off Outdoors: The Nature of Sound & Music
Monday, February 18, 2019 - 8:30am to 5:30pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in grades K-5

Spend the day off exploring music in nature in this one-day camp! Investigate how birds, frogs, and insects make music and learn about how animals use sound to survive. Test your skills through various experiments that explore how humans, and other animals, communicate! Every LSNC camp includes opportunities to play silly games, make art, spend time outside, and meet some of LSNC’s resident animals up close.

Parents' Night Out @AAHOM: Simple Machines
Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 5:30pm to 10:00pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in K-6th grades
$30 per child ($25 per child for LSNC Members)

It's a night out for grown-ups while the kids enjoy an exciting evening at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. Explore the museum to learn how simple machines work and find your inventor's spark. Then put yourself to the test and design and build your own contraption to solve a tricky problem.  

Parents’ Night Out includes a Panera sandwich box with PB&J or Turkey as well as a late-night popcorn snack. Families are welcome to send their child with a dinner from home. Due to the downtown location, there is special drop-off information, so please check your email the week of the event.

Registration is required by 12PM on February 20th in order to receive a Panera box dinner as we must place our order 3 days in advance. If you register after the cut-off date, your child will need to come with a dinner from home.  Register for this event online, or call 734-997-1553.
