Nature Storytime - Super Senses: Sound!

Ages: 1-5 years old with a caregiver
$5 per child ($4 for members), free for adults and children under 1 year old

Nature Storytime has many opportunities for you and your little one to explore and appreciate the outdoors, such as live animal visits, hikes, stories, and hands-on activities. This week we will discover animals with super hearing and explore our own sense of hearing! Nature Storytime takes place Wednesday mornings and every other Sunday for one hour. Each session includes indoor and outdoor activities – so make sure to dress for the weather!

Full Moon Hike
Saturday, December 2, 2017 - 7:00pm to 9:00pm
Ages: All ages
$9 per person or $34 per family ($8 per member or $30 per member family)

Enjoy the height of the lunar month with a moonlit hike through the woods. Do some simple science experiments out on the trail to understand how different animals eyes see in the dark, learn about night hike safety, and visit some of LSNC's nocturnal animals to learn more about how they survive. We'll also hear some stories and poems inspired by the moon and enjoy hot cocoa by the camp fire--go green by bringing your own reuseable mug!

**This program will include hike groups for all ages as well as for adults 18+. Please indicate your preference at registration. Cups will be provided if you cannot bring a mug.

Every month, Ann Arbor Hands On Museum visitors get up close and personal with some of our favorite critters from the natural world!  Join us for hands-on activities and a meet and greet with critters from 10-4 on Saturday (with a mid-day “Animal Naptime”) and 1-4 on Sunday. This month the featured critters are hawks and falcons, and they are ready for their close up!

Parents' Night Out- Wild Winter Woods
Saturday, December 16, 2017 - 5:00pm to 10:00pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in K-6th grades
$30 per child ($25 per member)

It's a night out for grown-ups while the kids enjoy an exciting evening at LSNC. Explore how animals survive in winter and test your own survival skills through games and challenges. Meet an expert hibernator up close and personal. Parents’ Night Out includes a Panera sandwich box with PB&J or Turkey as well as a late-night popcorn snack. Families are welcome to send their child with a dinner from home. Activities will be outside as much as possible, so please come dressed for the weather!

Registration is required by 12PM on December 13th in order to receive a Panera box dinner as we must place our order 3 days in advance. If you register after the cut-off date, your child will need to come with a dinner from home.
