Guided Forest therapy is based on the Japanese practice of "Forest bathing" meaning an immersive sensory experience of nature.  Unlike a nature hike, forest therapy is a slow, relaxing and interactive experience in nature, covering less than half a mile and focusing on deepening of our connections with nature through a series of suggested activities.  You are welcome to get your hands dirty and sit on the ground!  Since this is a 3-hour event, Participants are are strongly encouraged to bring any medications they might need, water and a snack, a hat, wear comfortable walking shoes and lightweight pants.   A tea ceremony ends each experience.

Free
Join LSNC raptor staff for feeding time for the birds. During this hour, watch staff prepare and give scrumptious raptor food — and yes, that does mean dead mice and rats!- to the birds housed on our site, including wild owls, hawks and eagles.  This is a great time to see the birds doing their most natural behavior… eating. This will also be an opportunity to touch feathers, see a hawk or owl pellet, and discover more about bird anatomy. Come join our raptor staff, and ask questions regarding the birds and other ways you can learn more about them!
