Nature Storytime - Eggstravagent Eggs

Nature Storytime has many opportunities for you and your little one to explore and appreciate the outdoors, such as live animal visits, hikes, stories, and hands-on activities. This week we will explore eggs and all the animals who lay them. Nature Storytime takes place Wednesday and select Sunday mornings for one hour. Each session will be outdoors – so make sure to dress for the weather!

Day Off Outdoors - Burrows, Webs, and Nests
Friday, April 10, 2020 - 8:30am to 5:30pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in grades K-5
$75 per camper ($70 for LSNC Enhanced Members and Hands-On Museum Family Plus Premium Members)
 
In this one day camp, we'll head outside to explore animal habitats and compare them to our own. Practice finding and creating habitats as we learn about what every animal needs to survive! Every Day Off Outdoors camp includes opportunities to play silly games, make art, spend time outside, and meet some of LSNC’s resident animals up close.
 
This camp will take place at Cobblestone Farm, 2781 Packard St, Ann Arbor, MI 48108.

Girl Scout Program - Geocacher
Saturday, April 11, 2020 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Ages: Girl Scout Juniors and Cadettes
$10 per child
 
Scouts will have the chance to try a world-wide treasure hunt! Scouts will learn the universal language of Geocaching, make a trade item to take on their treasure hunt, and then use the GPS receivers and maps to scope out local Geocaches!

Parents' Night Out: Night at the Museum
Saturday, April 18, 2020 - 5:30pm to 10:00pm
Ages: Youth currently enrolled in grades K-5
$35 per child ($30 per child for members)
 
It's a night out for grown-ups while the kids enjoy an exciting evening at the Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum. Every Night at the Museum we'll do exciting activities that will explore different science concepts plus we'll spend plenty of time exploring the museum! 
 
Parents’ Night Out includes a Panera sandwich box with PB&J or Turkey as well as a late-night popcorn snack. Families are welcome to send their child with a dinner from home. 
 
This event will take place at Ann Arbor Hands-On Museum, 220 E. Ann St, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.

Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival

The Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival is an annual celebration coordinated by the Ann Arbor Earth Day Festival Planning Committee, a coalition of local environmental nonprofits and agencies,.
 
This free, family-friendly event features displays from 40 local environmental, nonprofit, and governmental organizations; live animal demonstrations; hands-on activities; live entertainment; green building & commuting technologies; energy topics; water awareness; sustainable agriculture; and more.
 
In the true spirit of Earth Day, this festival will again be a Zero Waste event, with the help from Recycle Ann Arbor. Visitors can help keep up the average of 90% waste diverted from landfills during the Earth Day Event by bringing their reusable water bottle, and putting their waste in the right receptacles.

Cub Scout Program - Paws on the Path - CORE Adventure
Saturday, April 25, 2020 - 10:00am to 12:00pm
Ages: Cub Scouts working toward the Wolf rank
$10 per child
 
Take your adventure outdoors with a certified interpretive guide! Scouts will learn the importance of the Six Essentials and the buddy system when hiking, and will practice dressing for the weather when exploring the outdoors. Then, during the hike, scouts will learn the importance of "Leave No Trace" ethics, and discover how to identifying common plants and animals along the Huron River.
