Dinner and Snack

  • Each child is provided with a Panera box lunch for dinner with a choice of a peanut butter and jelly or turkey sandwich. Participants are also allowed to bring a dinner from home. We also eat a late night snack of popcorn.

Typical Schedule

  • 5:30     Camper Sign In and Welcome Stations
Families sign campers in at the drop off location. While we are waiting for everyone to arrive, campers will choose from several different activities like art making, exploring specimens, or playing with blocks, Legos, and other manipulative toys. They will have the chance to explore the "big ideas" of the day's theme.

  • 6:30     Dinner
Dinner is held eating picnic outside (weather permitting) or on the floor in our program space. Participants, staff, and volunteers stay seated and focused on eating and drinking water for 20 minutes. Campers are encouraged to recycle and compost.

  • 7:00    Evening Activities
Participants will spend this time exploring the evening's big ideas through exploring the museum gallery and a short segment of guided activities like experiments, games, and other activities. Activities might be done in various places around the site. Parents looking to sign their child out early will need to call the number provided at drop off to locate participants.

  • 9:00    Quiet Free Time and Snack
Participants will eat a snack of popcorn while doing self guided quiet activities like playing board games or doing art. Parents are welcome to pick their child up during this time.

  • 10:00  All Campers Picked up and Signed Out
All campers must be picked up and signed out by someone on their Emergency & Release form with photo I.D. by 10:00.
