Camps Overview

We are very excited to have you in our camp community! LSNC camps are a place where campers will try new things, have exciting outdoor adventures, make many new friends, and learn to understand and protect the natural world. We are dedicated to making your experience with LSNC camp a positive and memorable one.

Camp Mission and Philosophy

LSNC Camp Mission: LSNC camps provide campers with fun, safe opportunities to connect with others, develop new skills (and the confidence to use them), and enjoy being kids through experiences with nature. LSNC camp inspires campers and their families to be curious about the natural world and motivates them to support and protect it for the future.

LSNC Camp Philosophy: We believe that every child has the right to play in, learn about, and explore nature. Strong relationships with peers and adults, and opportunities to take risks safely, are essential to helping kids develop the confidence and independence they need to thrive. Authentic, hands-on encounters with the natural world encourage problem solving and inspire compassion, responsibility, and action.

About the staff

LSNC’s Camp Educators are a diverse team of experienced, creative individuals who work together to design engaging, fun, and educational activities that encourage campers to build meaningful relationships, gain new skills, and explore nature. Our camper-to-staff ratio is 10:1. In addition, high school volunteers often accompany our camp groups to play with campers, prepare snacks, and support our Summer Camp Educators. We perform background checks on all individuals 18 years and older who are helping with camp and all of our Educators are certified in First Aid and CPR. Read our bios to learn more about our team!

About the site

We're also home to non-releasable birds of prey and a variety of mammals, reptiles, and amphibians that give campers an opportunity for up-close encounters with live animals.
