Adopt-An-Animal

The Leslie Science & Nature Center's Adopt-An-Animal program is an opportunity to provide direct support to our wildlife. Our educational animals are non-releasable and need permanent care. Your support ensures that these animals continue to inspire and educate our visitors. In the case where we have multiple birds within a species, an LSNC staff member will follow up with you to confirm which specific individual you are adopting.

Your adoption gifts are put to work immediately:

  • Feeding and caring for our animals;
  • Providing medical treatment when needed;
  • Conducting training of both our animals and our staff;
  • Defraying costs for schools that cannot afford our educational programs otherwise; and
  • Inspiring our visitors and community through educational programs.

We have three adoption levels.

  • Gold: $220  - Two year adoption
  • Silver: $120  - One year adoption
  • Bronze: $50 - One year adoption - reserved for schools and youth groups

With each level, you receive by mail*:

  • A certificate recognizing your adoption
  • A color photograph of the animal you adopted
  • A fact sheet about the species you adopted
  • Your name displayed on the enclosure of your adopted animal
  • Our warmest thanks and a receipt for your tax-deductible donation
