Nature Adventure Summer Camp

This summer, explore your world by hiking, dabbling with scientific experiments, visiting rabbits, turtles, owls, and an eagle.  Discover the delicious benefits of gardening, create nature-inspired art and enjoy the summer sunshine. Follow a set of animal tracks, use binoculars to study birds, play games with new friends, build a shelter and much more. A different adventure awaits each age group from catching tadpoles and polliwogs to planning your own two day camping trip.

                                    A Typical Day                    

8:30     Camper Sign In

Campers need to be signed in each day. While we are waiting for everyone to arrive, campers will create theme related art projects, work at stations, or participate in other indoor activities

9:00     Circle Up time

To start off our day, campers will gather in a circle for hear the schedule for the day, play some name games and learn fun nature facts.

9:00-11:30     Morning Activities

Outdoors we go to hike, explore, play games, and enjoy the sunshine.

Morning snack will be provided.

Campers will visit the Critter Room at least once during their camp week

11:30-12:30    Lunch and Freetime

During lunch each day the children eat for at least the first 20 minutes.  Lunch is held with all 3 camps together picnic style in the backyard. Campers are encouraged to recycle and compost. After lunch, there will be at least 30 minutes of free play time in the backyard.

12:30-1:30     Quiet Time

On Mondays quiet time is used for All Camp, a time when all 3 camps come together for games and songs.  For the rest of the week quiet time is held with each group individually. Campers are given a time to relax from our days adventures, stories, reading, drawing, napping, cloud watching and other quiet activities are planned for this time.

1:30-2:30        Choice Time

            During choice time the leaders offer 3-4 activities depending on the number of

camp groups.  Each camper is able to choose which activity she/he would like to participate in for the whole hour.  Thursday is Choice Day. On this day we have 3 choice times throughout the day with the last one being Choice Carnival. At Choice Carnival, campers are able to go to all the stations including the campfire with S’mores.

2:30      Afternoon Snack, Clean-up and Circle Games

3:00      Camper pick up time. Please sign out your camper each afternoon.
