Overnight Visits
We know that nothing excites a scout like camping out!
What you need to know:
- Cost: $26 per scout. Minimum charge $260. There is an 18 scout limit.
- Time: from 6-9pm Friday or Saturday and 7-10 am Saturday or Sunday.
- Your group may sleep either in the Nature House on the carpeted floor or outside in your own tents.
- We require a deposit of the minimum payment within one month from the date you scheduled your program.
- Overnight programs can accomplish one or two different badges, depending on the desired badges.
How to plan an overnight visit:
To request a program, call (734) 997-1553 8:30am - 4 pm.
Please have the following information:
- The scout program you would like
- Date range you are looking for (including your preference for days of the week or weekend day)
- Age and number of scouts
- Name of contact person, home address, phone number
- Any special needs we should know about
- Number of adults attending.
Please note: you are not registered for a program until you receive confirmation from us. Sending an e-mail or leaving a phone message with your request does not guarantee a spot.
Girl Scouts: You may pick one or two of the advertised badge programs.
Cub Scouts: Family Outdoor Adventure, Let's Go Camping, and Outdoorsman are badges that require an overnight. It is possible to combine these overnight badges with another (ie, Outdoorsman and Forester). We can also provide an overnight program accomplishing badges that do not require an overnight. (ie, Forester and Naturalist).
Before your trip:
• Be sure you have enough adults.
• Dress for the weather. We will go outside even if it is raining, so please be prepared. We will be inside if the weather is unsafe.
• Please be on time. The program will end as scheduled even if you arrive late.
Typical Scout Overnight Trip:
6:00pm. Arrival to LSNC
6:00-6:15 Arrival activity. This is typically one of the Badge Requirement projects, and can be completed as the scouts are being dropped off.
6:15 Welcome to LSNC! We'll hear the Leslie Story, introduce ourselves, and make a plan for the rest of the evening.
6:30-8:00 Badge requirement activities.
8:00-8:45 Night Hike. Black Pond Woods is amazing at night! We'll take a hike together and discover amazing nocturnal adaptations.
8:45-9:00 Camp fire! We'll sit around a warm campfire and roast marshmallows together. Your LSNC Program Coordinator will say goodnight, and you'll ensure your scouts get a good night's rest. Good night!
7:00am Good Morning! Your LSNC Program Coordinator will arrive and start the breakfast process. We provide tea and coffee for the adults and cocoa on chilly mornings for the scouts.
7:30 Breakfast. Once the scouts have woken up, put away their things and gotten dressed, bagel breakfast is served!
8:00-10:00 Badge requirement activities.
