Ages 1-5
We give your little ones a place to spread their wings
Kids are born explorers! Bring your 1-5 year-olds to romp in wide-eyed wonder in one of our many programs crafted just for them. Although we offer programming for young children year-round (ages 4 and up can also attend full/half day summer camps), we find that when the weather turns cold and children and parents alike get that sense of cabin fever, these programs are an extra special treat. It will give your little ones (and you) something new to do and look forward to, every month.
In addition to programs for your little ones, we also offer programs for the entire family, and don't forget to explore our all ages Birds of Prey programs!
Nature Tales (ages 1-5)
Join us each month for this naturally unique story time. We accompany a story with a selection of hands-on, nature-themed activities, including live animal visits, games, and exploration through the outdoors.
- When: Select Saturdays, 10-11 a.m.
- Where: The Critter House at Leslie Science & Nature Center
- Who: Ages 1-5, caregiver required
- Cost: $2 per child; registration is not required

Tiny Tots (ages 1-3)
A hands-on carnival of activities to help your toddler begin learning about nature! Each session features a unique theme and includes both indoor and outdoor discovery opportunities. Puppet shows, engaging songs, stories, nature walks, crafts, and more will be utilized throughout the series so that each week is new and exciting.
- When: Select Fridays September through May, 10-11:30 a.m.
- Where: Leslie Science & Nature Center
- Who: Recommended for ages 1-3, caregiver required
- Cost: $7/child, adults are free

Tykes (ages 4-5)
Looking for an engaging way to introduce nature to your four and five-year-olds? Tykes programs offer a wonderful mix of science and silliness for young naturalists, including time outdoors; please make sure your child is appropriately dressed for the weather! Every month features a new theme and each session offers new activities and learning experiences for your preschooler.
- When: Thursdays September through May, 1-2:30 p.m.
- Where: Leslie Science & Nature Center
- Who: 4-5 year olds; caregiver not required
- Cost: Varies per session. Please see specific programs for more information.
Adopt a Raptor
The Leslie Science & Nature Center's Adopt-a-Raptor Program gives you an opportunity to provide direct support to our birds of prey. Our education birds are non-releasable and need permanent care. Your adoption ensures that these birds continue to inspire and educate our visitors. Your adoption gifts are put to work immediately.
