Outreach Programs

The Leslie Science and Nature Center is sending six exciting natural science programs on the road to your school! These one-hour programs are hands-on, interactive and innovative.

Program Information

• These outreach programs are only available during November - March.
• All programs last ONE HOUR.
• Class size must be kept to 30 or less to encourage student interaction and participation.
• An adult must stay with the students at all times.
• If we are doing more than one outreach program at your school, it is helpful for us to do each program in the same room.
• For Ann Arbor Schools, the cost is $85 for the first program, and $65 for any additional programs scheduled on the same day.
• The charge for non-Ann Arbor is $110 for the first program, and $80 for any additional programs scheduled on the same day, with a minimum requirement of two programs a day for schools outside of Ann Arbor.
• KidsScience on Wheels Programs are available within a 20 mile radius of Ann Arbor, programs outside of Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti will be charged an additional $15 transportation fee.

Registration Information

1. Register for the program. Please call (734) 997 1553 between 8:30 am and 4 pm to register for a program. Alternatively, you can send an e-mail to info@lesliesnc.org with the following information:
   • Which outreach program(s) you would like.
   • What date range you are looking for, including preference for days of the week and whether you prefer morning or afternoon.
   • Age and number of students.
   • Name of contact person, school address, phone number.
   • Whether any students have special needs of which we should be aware.
   • Please note: you are not registered for a program until you receive confirmation from LSC. Sending an e-mail or leaving a phone message with your request does not guarantee a spot.
2. Prior to our arrival, please do the following:
   • Ask the children to clean off their desks so we know we have their undivided attention.
   • Have all the children wear nametags; this enables us to interact with them better.
