It is Spring River Monitoring Season! This year over 800 eighth grade students from Huron Valley School District in Highland Mi are traveling to various locations throughout the headwaters of the Huron River Watershed to conduct water quality investigations. Students search for macroinvertebrates, conduct chemical tests of the water, and record physical observations of each site. With this knowledge and information comes great responsibility. Those that participate in GREEN (Global Rivers Environmental Education Network) and other watershed projects are then charged with the responsibility of taking action in order to improve the health of the river and the communities that live within the watershed. This page is to celebrate these accomplishments and inform others that even small changes can add up to make a big difference.

As you read this page students are working hard to design this year's projects. Stay tuned for their success stories!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

This year's monitoring and project season was made possible through the generous support of General Motors Milford Proving Grounds and an EarthForce minigrant.

The watershed projects in Ann Arbor are generously supported by the Wolf Family Foundation.
