The Leslie Science and Nature Center (LSNC), a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating children and families about the natural world, is seeking exceptional candidates for our Development Director position.

LSNC is currently looking for a highly motivated and personable individual to be its Development Director, an important leadership position on the organization’s management team. The Development Director’s main tasks include supporting the Capital Campaign, managing major and corporate giving, planning special events, writing grants, organizing and administering annual giving appeals, and promoting and administering the LSNC Membership Program.

Rate of Pay/Benefits: Salary based on experience; medical and retirement benefits.

Volunteer opportunities!

We are in the process of looking for volunteers to assist in the care of the animals in our Critter House. You would work under the supervision of the critter care coordinator. Please call (734) 997 1553 for more information.

We currently have all summer camp volunteer positions filled.

Are you looking for a fun and exciting volunteer project? If so, look no further! Volunteers are a vital part of the Leslie Science and Nature Center and participate in almost every aspect of what makes us so great. Volunteers work in the Critter House, assist program coordinators, help out with trail maintenance, garden in our native plant beds, and participate in a variety of special programs. If you're interested in joining the fun, call Francie at (734) 997 1075.

Examples of past projects by season:

Frog Fest: In the spring volunteers help LSNC staff host our annual frog fest. Games, hikes and other activities are just a few examples of volunteer fun.
Stewardship workdays throughout the spring and summer. Volunteers clean and help maintain the native plant beds and trails.
Summer camp volunteers help in daily activities (14 years and older).
Guest presenters for Day Camps have included musicians, storytellers and local experts.
Animal Haunts: During the month of October volunteers help build the prairie maze, stuff scarecrows, make leaf garlands, decorate the Nature House, run the outside games, concession stand or act as a trail guide. We average about 200 volunteer hours hosting everyone's favorite, non-scary Halloween program.
