Saturday Fling

Depending on the weather, we may sled, cook marshmallows on the fire, play games, and/or build shelters. We will even enjoy a pizza lunch. Holiday Break Camp

Celebrate the beauty and splendor of winter with games, sledding, hikes, and crafts. After a hike or sledding run, warm up by the fire with hot chocolate, popcorn and stories. Investigate and discover nature's winter surprises. Experiment with animal adaptations and see how they survive the cold, dark winter months.

A week of walks in the woods, poking in the ponds, gallivanting in the grass fills your spring break with natural wonders. Other activities include outdoor games, survival skills, and explorations on the wet and wild side.
The Leslie Science and Nature Center offers monthly programs for your little naturalists ages 4-5 years old. Make sure your child is dressed for the weather! Bug Bonanza

All of our parties are two hours long and are for a maximum of 15 children unless otherwise indicated.

Parties can be scheduled after school or on weekends.
The fee is $150.00/$125.00 resident discount.
Outdoor environmental adventures for all ages of scouts! Your troop may choose a two-hour program or an overnight program, in which we will complete most, if not all, of the requirements for many scout badges. Call 997-1553 for more information or to register.

We are offering a Tiny Tot Pass. $75 for 15 programs from September to May. Passes are available during scheduled Tiny Tot Times.
Discover nature through your child's eyes. Join us for a carnival of indoor and outdoor hands-on activities that will delight toddlers and provide a wonderful introduction to the great outdoors. Explore the joys of forests, fields and fauna through hikes, songs, stories, puppets, games and crafts. Stop in to the Critter House to visit Frieda the iguana and her animal friends or meander past our Resident Raptors to spy on owls, hawks and other raptors.
PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED for all programs unless otherwise indicated. An adult is required with each child. Scholarships are available, call (734) 994-2780 to inquire. Space is limited in many of the programs, so register early! There is a $10 charge for refunds. Bug Fest

$6 per person, all ages invited, an adult is required.What has 6 legs, 3 body parts and 2 antennas? An insect of course! These often-misunderstood animals are incredibly varied. Some spend winter in the mud, while some migrate hundreds of miles. Various insects pollinate plants or produce honey, all while providing us with art and entertainment. Take time this fall to join our insect extravaganza! Search, sweep, dip and dig into this incredible world.
Nocturnal Nature

Children of the Earth Concert with Joe Reilly

$6.00 per person, pre registration and an adult required.Join us to celebrate the new Children of the Earth CD with a fun filled and inspiring concert with Joe Reilly, a singer, songwriter and environmental educator at the Leslie Science and Nature Center. Joe, along with LSNC campers, has written and recorded songs to teach ecology and environmental stewardship and to celebrate our connections with the earth and its resources.
Treasure Hunt
Saturday, November 3 (Code: LS042) 1:00-3:00 pm
$6 per person $25 per family, pre registration and an adult is required.Work as a team and follow the clues, for today that's what we will do. They'll lead you into special places; it's sure to put a smile on all our faces. Decipher, learn, play and have fun. We'll do all this until we are done. You will learn what treasure you've got, when you find that X marks the spot.
Mad Scientist Day

$6 per person, pre registration and an adult is required.Experiment in the Leslie Laboratory with electricity, chemistry, physics and more. Light a light with lemons, keep paper dry under water, build a marble roller coaster, the possibilities are endless when we become Mad Scientists!
Owl Prowl

Night hikes and owl calling might help us find the owls nesting in Black Pond Woods. Visits with live owls will fill the evening with wonder as we discover how ears, eyes and feathers help owls survive the night.
Cold Blooded Creatures

$6 per person, pre registration and an adult is required.Discover our most slithery, scaly and slimy creatures. A variety of live snakes, turtles, and frogs will be on hand as we dive into their habitats, hangouts and personalities.
Animal Haunts: Myths, Legends and Tails
Saturday, October 20 (Code: LS046) 6:00-9:00 pm
$6.00 per person/$25.00 per family, all ages pre-register or pay at the door; an adult is required.Imagine venturing on a dark walk in the woods while encountering talking animals and plants! Out on the trail we will visit costumed characters that will entertain and educate us with skits, songs and games. Guided tours leave from the campfire every few minutes and are 40 minutes long. Also have fun making your way through our prairie maze (if you can!), playing games, jumping in the hay, painting your face, and snacking on popcorn and "swamp muck" with stories and songs around a campfire. This program is NOT scary and is appropriate for all ages. Pre-registration is not required but encouraged.
