A Typical Day
8:30 Campers Sign-In
Parents sign in campers each day. While we are waiting for everyone to arrive, campers will create theme-related art projects, work at stations, or participate in other indoor activities.
9:00 Circle Up time
To start off our day, campers will gather in a circle to hear the day's schedule, play some name games and learn fun nature facts.
9:00-11:30 Morning Activities
Outdoors we go to hike, explore, play games, and enjoy the sunshine.
Morning snack will be provided.
Campers will visit the Critter Room at least once during their camp week.
Half-day morning camps begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 11:00 a.m. Afternoon camps are a repeat of the morning schedule beginning at 1:00 p.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m.
11:30-12:30 Lunch and Free time
Lunch is held with all 3 camps together, eating picnic style in the backyard of the Leslie House. Campers are encouraged to recycle and compost. After lunch, we provide ample, supervised free time to play outside.
12:30-1:30 Quiet Time
On Mondays quiet time is used for all campers. It's a time when all 3 camps come together for games and songs. For the rest of the week, quiet time is held with each group individually. Campers are given a time to relax from our day's adventures. Stories, reading, drawing, napping, cloud watching and other quiet activities are planned for this time.
1:30-2:30 Choice Time
During choice time, the leaders offer 3-4 activities depending on the number of camp groups. Each camper is able to choose which activity she or he would like to participate in for the entire hour. Thursday is Choice Day. On this day we have 3 choice times throughout the day with the last one being Choice Carnival. At Choice Carnival, campers are able to go to each of the stations, including our campfire pit where we roast marshmallows to make S’mores.
2:30 Afternoon Snack, Clean-up and Circle Games
3:30 Camper pick up time. Parents sign their campers out each afternoon.
